The Short Version
Most PixelTools tools run entirely in your browser. Your text, files, and inputs are processed on your own device and are never uploaded to or stored on our servers. We collect minimal, anonymized analytics to understand site usage, and we never sell your personal data to anyone.
This Privacy Policy explains how PixelTools ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our website and tools located at PixelTools.io (the "Service"). We built PixelTools around a simple principle: collect as little data as possible, and process what we can directly in your browser instead of on our servers. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
The vast majority of PixelTools tools — including all Text Tools, Developer Tools, Calculators, and most Image Tools — process your input entirely client-side using JavaScript running in your own browser. This means:
The text you type into the Word Counter, JSON Formatter, or any other text-based tool is never transmitted to our servers. The images you upload to the Image Resizer, Compressor, or Color Picker are processed locally on your device and are never sent to us. The numbers you enter into any calculator are used only to compute your result in your browser and are discarded immediately afterward. We do not require an account, email address, or any personal identifier to use any tool on PixelTools.
While most tool usage involves no data transmission to us, some limited information is collected to operate and improve the Service:
Usage Analytics. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages and tools are visited, in aggregate and anonymized form. This may include general information such as browser type, device type, approximate geographic region (derived from IP address, which is not stored), and pages visited. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Contact Form Submissions. If you voluntarily submit a message through our Contact Us page, we collect the name, email address, and message content you provide, solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. We do not add contact form submissions to any marketing list without your explicit consent.
Cookies. We may use minimal, essential cookies for functionality such as remembering your theme preference (light or dark mode). We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising tracking.
Any information we do collect is used solely to operate, maintain, and improve PixelTools — for example, identifying which tools are most popular so we can prioritize future development, diagnosing technical issues, and responding to contact form inquiries. We do not use collected data to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties.
We may use a small number of third-party service providers for functions such as website hosting and anonymized analytics. These providers are contractually limited to using data only to provide services to us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not display third-party advertising on PixelTools.
Because most tools process data locally in your browser, the data never reaches our infrastructure in the first place, which is itself a strong security measure. For the limited data we do collect (such as contact form submissions), we apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
PixelTools is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding any personal data we hold about you, including the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that data. Because we collect very little personal data by design, most requests can be resolved quickly. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal and regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle data, please reach out through our Contact Us page. We aim to respond to all privacy-related inquiries within a reasonable timeframe.
